Senior Accountant

Background:

This Senior Accountant position represents an opportunity to work for a fast growing and innovative financial services platform that provides strategic and operational advisory services to leading technology companies. Formation Financial works with these high-growth technology companies backed by top-tier venture capital firms in areas of SaaS, Fintech, Media/Advertising, and other related technology segments.

Role Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant who is comfortable working with sophisticated clients and taking the lead on client projects with technology-specific challenges. We offer interesting project assignments with exciting companies, leading compensation rates, and flexible work/life balance, if desired.

Major Responsibilities:

Prepare balance sheet and account reconciliations, inter-company consolidations and journal entries. Migrations, system integrations, setting up chart of accounts. Prepare Accounts receivable/payable. Run semimonthly payroll. Maintain deferred revenue schedule and revenue recognition. Prepare city and state compliance reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5+ years of financial/accounting experience working with a variety of small to mid-sized companies, preferably in high growth sectors

Bachelor’s Degree

Comfortable implementing and using accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Expensify and Bill.com

Fluent in GAAP Accounting and SAAS-based financial guidelines, cost-accounting a plus

History of working in financial audits

Expertise in federal, state and local level tax issues and procedures
